Complex Document Capture Made Simple

Despite the ideal of a paperless environment that the popularization of computers had promised, paper continues to dominate the office landscape. Ironically, the computer itself has been a major contributing source of paper proliferation. The computer simplifies the task of document composition, and thus has enabled even greater numbers of publishers. Often times, many copies of a document must be made so that the document can be shared among colleagues, thus generating even more paper.

Smart Document Processor (SDP)

As with any repetitive task, a few seconds saved scanning and filing a single document quickly adds up to dozens or hundreds of hours over the course of a long project or daily routine. The most import part of planning your imaging project is to find the most efficient way to capture documents and file them correctly. Creating an efficient scanning and indexing process will save you countless hours of labor over the life of your project.

Our SDP has the fastest, most efficient scanning workflow of any major desktop document capture application. It is faster and easier because it is designed to perform all of the steps necessary to scan, process, verify and export images in one continuous workflow rather than requiring the user to click extra buttons each time to initiate the next step. When taken to the extreme, Our SDP is capable of performing all of these tasks automatically just by clicking an icon on your desktop.

The two main methods for automating indexing processed PDFs are Barcode Recognition and Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Barcode recognition is faster and more accurate, but your documents must contain a barcode on the document or a cover page for this to work. OCR is able to read printed data directly from the page, which means most documents can be processed as-is.

Advanced PDF Optimizer

An advanced PDF optimizer is a software package built specifically to compress our PDF outputs. This software usually compresses each PDF file differently depending on the components present in it. Some of the components of a PDF file include text, graphics, images, metadata, comments and bookmarks. All these components when added together usually result in a large PDF file with large sized components. When using an advanced PDF optimizer the user gets to decide what components he wants reduced in a PDF file and what he wants retained. For example if one PDF file has a large amount of images that occupy most of its space, this software can present the user with a dialog box which shows the user where these images lie. The user can then use this information to choose what type of compression, such as JPEG2000, can be applied to reduce the size of the images.

With an advanced PDF optimizer, PDF files ranging from one file to many files in a batch can be processed and converted into much smaller files. These smaller sized files provide users with many benefits chief among which, they can be stored in smaller disc spaces and hence in the long run reduce the need to purchase additional hard drives. Such files can even be converted by advanced PDF optimizer software for better viewing and faster opening on the Internet. Also smaller sized PDF files can be transported easily via the Internet.

PDF Counter

Simply point at the optimized PDF output folders. Any combination of multi-page and/or single page PDF files is accommodated. PDF Counter supports a combination of Multi-page and single page tiff and PDF files. Ideal for imaging bureaus where an accurate page count is paramount when keeping log for the work scanned. PDF Counter also writes to a text file or Excel spreadsheet for easy loading into a database or repository. It has simple, flexible and powerful interface. It also supports individual page counts and shows total page counts. You can export to text and Excel files.
